What is your hair regimen?

Weekly: Wash hair with Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo, deep condition, and apply oil mixture of coconut oil, Jamaican Black Castor Oil, olive oil and tea tree oil.
Favorite overall hair product and/or product line?
Favorite product line is Shea Moisture.
What made you decide to go natural?
I decided to go natural because of how relaxers were damaging my scalp and because I couldn’t seem to grow my hair.
How did you return to natural?
I transitioned for six months before doing the big chop.
What do you do differently to your hair now that you’re natural?
I don’t apply heat to my hair, so no flat ironing or blow drying. I make sure that my hair is moisturized and I pay attention to what products contain in order to make sure that I stay away from harsh chemicals.
What’s the best thing that you like about your hair?
I like that it is healthy and in its natural state. My hair has boosted my self confidence and I like that it is natural and I am setting myself apart from society’s view of what my hair should be. That I can be creative with styles and have many options to change my look and revert back to my puff that I love the most. But most of all its part of me and overall health from head to toe is what I am aiming for. I am not having the same problems I had when I was relaxed. Just being able to be myself and not compare my hair to others and keeping up with society’s current style and judgments.
What do you like least about your hair?
What I like least that it tends to be dry and trying to find styles that fit me.
Any tips that you would give to people who plan to go natural?
Find styles and products that fit and work for you. If you plan to transition be careful of the two different hair textures, you have to care for both. You will have to experiment with different products until you find one that work for you.
