Beyonce’s Hair Isn’t That Long! Right?!
Bey with the good hair?! 🤔 A lot of people would beg to differ. When Beyonce’s hairstylist Neal Farinah posted Beyonce’s look from the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year ceremony with the caption “SLAY ME THAT NATURAL CURLY HAIR @beyonce“, it was met with a lot of admiration as well as people doubting that it was actually her real hair.
Her mother Tina Lawson posted a picture yesterday pretty much confirming that Beyonce’s hair is indeed thick and long. However, it was still met with a lot of criticism and disbelief that Beyonce’s hair is that long sans weave. This got me questioning whether some people actually believed that it’s impossible for Beyonce’s hair to be long or if they doubt that a Black woman can grow long hair. I personally think the latter.
Some people were shocked that Beyonce’s hair could be that long.
Wait that's actually Beyonce's hair?

So Beyoncé got hair. Waw

While others just totally dismissed the fact that it’s actually her hair.
I do not believe that is Beyonce's real hair. Not because of the length but because it's bone straight and blonde. Why would she damage her hair like that when she consistently wears identical looking wigs?

I love Beyoncé just as much as the next girl but there’s nothing y’all can say to make me believe that’s that girl real hair lol bye

That's not Beyonce's real hair.

However, through the negativity, there were people that understood that Black women can indeed have long hair and that it is ridiculous that people can be naive about this topic.
plot twist: Beyoncé is Becky with the good hair.

If Beyoncé was white people would have no issue thinking that was her hair length. Why do y’all insist black women can’t grow long hair?

All the skepticism, debates, and downright hating I've seen about Beyoncé's natural hair from black women is the ugliest thing I've seen on my TL today.

With the wave of the natural hair movement and Black women growing their hair to great lengths, you’d think that the idea of a Black woman having long hair wouldn’t be questionable. The thing that is most disheartening is that most of the negativity came from other Black women! 😞 Unfortunately, a lot of Black women are not knowledgeable about taking care of their own hair. Many blame their lack of hair growth on their race. This idea is extremely antiquated and very problematic. If you’re human, you can grow your hair to great lengths. It’s just up to individuals to educate themselves on how to actually do it.
