SLAY ME THAT NATURAL CURLY HAIR @beyonce #hairstylist #nealfarinahsaloninc #nealfarinahsalon #nealfarinahinc

Bey with the good hair?! 🤔 A lot of people would beg to differ. When Beyonce’s hairstylist Neal Farinah posted Beyonce’s look from the Sports Illustrated Sportsperson of the Year ceremony with the caption “SLAY ME THAT NATURAL CURLY HAIR @beyonce“, it was met with a lot of admiration as well as people doubting that it was actually her real hair.

Her mother Tina Lawson posted a picture yesterday pretty much confirming that Beyonce’s hair is indeed thick and long. However, it was still met with a lot of criticism and disbelief that Beyonce’s hair is that long sans weave. This got me questioning whether some people actually believed that it’s impossible for Beyonce’s hair to be long or if they doubt that a Black woman can grow long hair. I personally think the latter.

INCHES!!!! So happy my baby’s hair grew back !! She is going to get me 😩

Some people were shocked that Beyonce’s hair could be that long.

While others just totally dismissed the fact that it’s actually her hair.

However, through the negativity, there were people that understood that Black women can indeed have long hair and that it is ridiculous that people can be naive about this topic.

With the wave of the natural hair movement and Black women growing their hair to great lengths, you’d think that the idea of a Black woman having long hair wouldn’t be questionable. The thing that is most disheartening is that most of the negativity came from other Black women! 😞 Unfortunately, a lot of Black women are not knowledgeable about taking care of their own hair. Many blame their lack of hair growth on their race. This idea is extremely antiquated and very problematic. If you’re human, you can grow your hair to great lengths. It’s just up to individuals to educate themselves on how to actually do it.

You know that’s REALLY a damn shame that people (black people mostly) REFUSE to believe that if another Black person natural hair is past their ears it’s weave! How sick is that? THAT’S BEYONCE’S Hair…get over it! Because YOUR hair breaks off every damn time it grows does NOT mean that her hair does the same…sad..really sad. Get over your Jim Crow ways and the crabs in a bucket ways!!!! My hair and a lot of other people had or has hair..NATURAL hair that long!
